Emergency services were called to Edinburgh Drive, St Ives, at 6.55am after reports of a bungalow fire this morning (August 27).
A man in his 80s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, in his 20s, was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, with minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: “We were called to a bungalow fire in Edinburgh Drive, St Ives, at about 6.55am this morning (August 27).
“Officers, alongside firefighters and paramedics, attended the scene and a man, aged in his 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Another man, aged in his 20s, was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon suffering from minor injuries.
“An investigation is on-going.”
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were called at 6.50am to a bungalow fire on Edinburgh Drive in St Ives. Crews from Chatteris, Gamlingay, Ramsey and Cambourne attended.
“Firefighters used four hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire and dampened down the area, checking for hotspots.
“The cause of the fire will be determined by a fire investigation.”
