Two British mums have been left fighting for their lives in intensive care following an incident while they were ‘on the way back to their hostel.’
Lauren Holmes, 27, and Ebony Cordingley, 26, are currently battling in hospital in Ibiza, which is where it was said they were hit by a taxi in the early hours of Tuesday morning (August 26).
What should have been a lovely last night in the holiday destination turned to horror, as the women were left with serious injuries.
A 24-year-old man was reportedly made to take a drink-driving test in connection with the incident, however, no arrests have yet been made.

Doctors had to relay the devastating news of the injuries faced by the families of the women, with professionals telling Ms Cordingley’s relatives that the mum-of-three had suffered a bilateral lower limb fracture, multiple rib fractures, bleeding on the brain and a punctured lung, as well as multiple open wounds that required emergency surgery, the Mirror reported.

Her condition has now improved after initially being described as “critical.”
Ms Holmes, a mother of two, meanwhile suffered two broken legs, a broken arm, a fractured spine, broken ribs and a punctured lung. She remains in intensive care at a different hospital.
Ms Cordingley’s sister, Shannon has set up a GoFundMe to “support her [sister] and care for the boys”, with the woman stating she understood the women had been crossing the road back to their hotel after a meal when they were struck by the taxi.
She added: “They weren’t drinking, weren’t leaving any clubs, they played in a park on swings, went for a walk, went for food then walked back to their hotel not realising the dangers of the roads around there.”
Shannon wrote on the fundraising page: “Right now, doctors are doing everything they can, but the reality is that her recovery will be long, uncertain, and incredibly difficult.
“We simply do not know yet how serious or lasting her injuries will be. What we do know is that she will need time, care, and strength to heal — and her three young sons need their mum more than ever.
“As a family, we are doing all we can to support her and care for the boys, but the challenges are overwhelming. The costs of being by her side abroad, potential medical expenses, and the long-term support her children will need are more than we can manage alone.”
Another GoFundMe page has been set up by the family of Ms Holmes, who said they had received a quote from the air ambulance team “who can assist Lauren in her return home” and take her to and from hospital at each side of the journey.

“Lauren is desperate to come home to receive her treatment that she so desperately needs”, the family added.
“We don’t know what the future holds but we are holding onto hope, your kindness will make a massive difference as we face the long road ahead to get our girl home.”
A Foreign Office spokesperson told the Mirror: “We are supporting two British nationals who have been hospitalised in Spain, and are in contact with the local authorities.”
