Elton Park Care Home was visited in July by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which found the provider to be ‘good’ in all areas.

Since its last inspection in April 2023, there has been a change in management with inspectors finding that “improvements had been made and were ongoing”.

Inspectors said: “The provider had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns.

“Managers investigated incidents and there were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience, and the management team kept this under review.”

Owner of Elton Park Care Home, Kamal Patel, said: “It’s a weight off our shoulders.

“The home has been running successfully for the last year with almost 95% occupancy, even without CQC rating but having this is the icing on the cake and reinforces to the public that we are doing the right things and have a safe and caring environment.

“It’s a testament to the team and the hard work they have done. We have a great manager and deputy, Amanda and Jo, and they’re supported by some really great staff.”

Inspectors also found that people were “treated with kindness and compassion” and residents had choice in their care and staff protected their privacy and dignity.

People who use the service also praised the home, with CQC noting that people told them they were happy living in the service and they felt safe.

Mr Patel added: “It’s great the recognition from CQC, there’s still work to be done, but we’re confident we will keep improving and continue to be a great home.”
