Australian court enforces ICSID awards against Spain

The Federal Court of Australia has enforced four Energy Charter Treaty awards worth a combined €470 million against Spain, finding that the state waived its sovereign immunity by ratifying the ICSID Convention and could not raise arguments based on the “primacy” of EU law.
