Consider this as an official takeover.

A KPop takeover in the animated space, that is.

KPop Demon Hunters,” the Netflix animated flick of the summer, has emerged as the most-streamed movie in the streaming platform’s history.

For those who might be unfamiliar, the film is centered on a K-pop girl group who track down mythical monsters when they’re not busy filling stadiums and arenas.

Though it’s an animated movie, it’s quickly grown into a widespread phenomenon and has racked up a strong fan base since its release, overtaking “Red Notice,” an action comedy with Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, as the most-watched film on the service. The film’s soundtrack was even a huge hit, which topped the charts.

As a result, “KPop Demon Hunters” has wooed watchers, pulling in 236 million views, compared to the 230.9 million that “Red Notice” has accumulated, according to Variety.

The animated movie scored a rare theatrical release from the streaming giant last weekend as Netflix didn’t publicly share box office results, but sources say it was the highest-grossing movie of the weekend, earning between $18 million to $20 million. It was also the most-streamed movie last week on Netflix, raking in another 25.4 million views.

Netflix debuted “KPop Demon Hunters” on June 20. The film received high-praise from critics for its style and inventiveness, with Variety’s Peter Debruge coining the movie as “high-energy” and “high-concept.”

The New York Times’ Brandon Yu applauded the film for creating a “charming, funny and artfully punchy original universe.”

It was directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans from a screenplay they co-wrote with Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan and was based on a story conceived by Kang.

Leading the voice cast were Arden Cho, Ahn Hyo-seop, May Hong and Ji-young Yoo, while the film’s original songs were written by Ejae, Jenna Andrews, Danny Chung, Ido, Vince, Kush, Daniel Rojas, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren and Mark Sonnenblick.
