The event, “Abseil for the BEACH!”, will see fundraisers descend the tower of St Peter’s Church on Saturday, September 6, 2025, with all proceeds going towards projects at Royal Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch hospitals.
UHD NHS charity fundraising target is £200 and the registration fees is £40.
Abseiling slots will run from 10 am until 3.30 pm, with participants asked to arrive 20 minutes before their allocated time.
Organisers say the event offers people the chance to “take the leap” while raising money to improve patient care across University Hospitals Dorset.
A spokesperson for UHD Charity said: “Not all heroes wear capes – some wear an NHS uniform during the workday and switch to daredevil mode out of work to dangle off St Peter’s Church in Bournemouth!
“This is your chance to channel your inner superhero and abseil for a cause that truly matters, transforming care for the incredible teams in the BEACH Building at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
“Every pound you raise and exciting moment on this journey supports the real-life legends in the Maternity, Child Health, Emergency and Critical Care units in the BEACH.
“It’s bold. It’s brave.”
