Ipswich Borough Council received plans for the golf course to be constructed in Christchurch Park.
The plans, submitted by Jackie Tennens, state that the golf course signage and boundaries will be in keeping with the area, with appropriate materials used.
The area the course could be placed on is an unused area of the park, bringing that area back into “productive, well-maintained recreational use”.
Along with a planning and heritage statement, a comprehensive maintenance plan was also submitted to ensure the course remains “safe, clean and ready for public use each day”.

The maintenance plan includes daily tasks such as inspections of holes, obstacle checks and clean playing surfaces, weekly tasks such as weed control and stock checks, monthly tasks like checking drainage systems and deep clean water features and seasonal tasks to ensure the course is suitable throughout the year.
A drawing of what the course would look like from above has also been submitted, with names for holes including ‘Wiggly Worm Run’, ‘Loopy Lou Lane’ and ‘Magic Mushroom Mound’.
Each course looks to have a different obstacle on it, whether it be rocks, water hazards, loop the loop, humps and bridges.
The first hole on the course will be the ‘Double Trouble Bank’ with the course then going in an anti-clockwise motion to finish at the ‘Stumpy Finish’.
The planning statement finished by saying: “The proposal will preserve and enhance the special interest of the Christchurch Park Conservation Area, ensuring that this important public asset continues to evolve as a vibrant community space.”
Ipswich Borough Council will discuss the plans in due course.
