We have a great chance for another 3 points.
We will, finally, have a bench that can affect a game.
When we look back at the last few seasons and what we can now put on the park the transformation is fantastic

Well done to our new owners for putting a professional team in place.
Improvement will be slow but will hopefully be consistent.

Finally we can argue about who are starting 11 is!!!

Anyone else planning on parking at Goodison tomorrow morning to catch the coach to Wolves, forget about it. Email just received, as there’s a clash with ladies friendly against Juventus there’s no room. I guess someone at the club has just realised. These pesky fixtures just seem to take the back office by surprise.

That team is probably bang on as long as Myko came through unscathed on Wednesday. The question is who drops out when Dibling gets his start? Has to be Garner or Dewsbury-Hall.

Predicted lineup looks about right and should be strong. Wolves may well be without Strand Larsen which should help but they have a strong central midfield in Andre and Joao Gomes and I worry about Gana and Garner winning that battle.

Definitely a good shot at 3 points though Molineux is no easy place to play and Wolves will be desperate for their first points.

First goal will be crucial as ever but if KDH, Grealish and Ndiaye are on form then we should be able to create some chances. Having Mykolenko back will be crucial and should allow Grealish to stay a little further up the pitch hopefully.

Hopefully a win and a decent away performance, so we can all forget the Leeds debacle.

I see Jack Grealish has not been picked by Tuchel. I wouldn’t worry Jack, he won’t pick Branthwaite, when he’s fit, either.

I agree that is the likely starting 11. Moyes not known for going ” left field”. I just wonder though if he may be tempted to go without Beto or Barry and play Ndiaye centrally and reinforce the middle?
I doubt it but it has merit.

We are gradually running into a bit of form and I fancy Everton for a narrow win. I’m pleased to see that Keane is getting games, he looks so much better not being paired with Holgate.

I would certainly be happier with Barry up top to hold the ball and occupy their centre backs for the first hour. Beto can finish when all the work has been done for him, but the ball just comes back at us without a centre forward to bring the other attacking players into the game.
There is also merit in the idea of a fluid front four with Ndiaye in the Richarlison number 9 role. Any defenders are going to wonder where to look with him, Alcaraz, Grealish and KDH in free roles. But I can’t see it happening.
Still hoping for a few arrivals before Monday night. Then we can really look forward to a more relaxed season.

Pete (2) That is a shocking decision, compounded by the ridiculously short notice. No consideration has been given to what people who drive from a distance outside Liverpool are supposed to do given the ludicrous parking restrictions imposed by the Council.

John (9) yes it’s all a bit last minute isn’t it? From what I understand it’s free parking for those attending the ladies game so no real need for this either commercially 🤣 or operationally. On top of the rigmarole many of us had getting into the Mansfield game, someone inside the club needs to get a grip on the back office operation.

Away wins are hard to come by and I don’t care who your playing.
We are mostly pretty satisfied with how things are playing out, but thats usually when something goes pear shaped.
Away from home I’ll take a draw now, if we win I’ll be thrilled.

I’m quietly confident especially if Laursen is missing, good to have Mykolenko back, probably play Garner beside Gueye, but Tim can feel unlucky if he’s on the bench.

Back 4 picks iself although there might be a debate between Jake and Seamus.

DM MF is a shoe in Garner and Gana but the front 4 is where the real question is.

I thought Charlie linked up well against Mansfield and score a class goal but Wolves will be far more physical so we need a battling Number 9 (Hang on we haven’t got one) so it’s Barry, Beto or a false 9.

Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish and Ndiaye are looking good so if we want to integrate Dibling one of those 3 will have to miss out or move further back at the expense of Ganer or Gana.

It’s also a shame for Tim Iroegbunam and Harrison Armstrong but at least it gives us options.

I’d play Dibling, put Ndiaye in the middle with Dewsbury-Hall and Gana behind him. And stick with Barry.

In such a system, I suspect Ndiaye would score a lot more than last season.

I think Thierno is going to take time to be a goalscorer but in the meantime he is going to be a great leader of the line bringing in other players.

His job will be to tire out the defenders for the first 60-70 minutes and then let the fresh legs of Beto batter them (a la Anichebe in the European matches years ago).

I also think that he may now have wingers who can cross the ball and once all on the same wavelength, then he could be bagging a few.

The corrupt Oliver is the ref and the corrupt Pawson is the VAR.
So if we don’t see at least one awful decision given against us tomorrow we will have witnessed a minor miracle.

I refuse to be too positive about getting a result as when I am it all goes tits up! As Raymond says, it’s always difficult playing away and Wolves will be desperate to get their first win of the season, so they’ll be well up for it.

Whoever starts I just hope we play some decent football and create chances, if we win I’ll be over the moon and wouldn’t be upset with a point (unless we batter them and miss a load of sitters!)

Progress on the pitch is important, get that right and the results will follow.

Saying all that, I am cautiously optimistic for the season ahead.

My old man and I always used to park in (Anfield?) car park for games at Goodison. Is that no longer an option?

this is really starting to look like an actual squad capable of having a good season. Those are some real options. It is way too early to be anything but optimistic for Barry and Beto has scored goals in the past so will score them again. The backline does largely pick itself but then it gets interesting. I agree with Garner beside Idrissa. Ndiaye, KDH and Grealish and then I’m not bothered too much who plays up top. Dibling will come off the bench for a few weeks. With Harrison, Tim and Charly off the bench we really do have options to either shore up or go for it. I’m furious with myself for getting hopeful about this team… 40 odd years as an Evertonian should mean I should know better:)

Keane will get playing on his last game and Dibling has to get himself up the pecking order.Garner most liking, though Tim played well last game.Moyes may want Ndiaye to produce more.He may also rest Grealish at the sstart of the game.
