Leeds United and Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing to fight for the signature of attacker Christantus Uche, who is valued at £15.5m by current club Getafe.
Leeds United and Crystal Palace are reportedly set to battle it out for Getafe attacker Christantus Ugonna Uche.
The 22-year-old has made a productive start for the Spanish side in La Liga this summer, scoring once and bagging one assist across three contests.
However, it is Uche’s exploits during the 2024-25 term that have earnt him interest from the Premier League, a league in which he could be playing in after the international break.
The Nigerian scored four goals and provided six assists across 33 La Liga matches last term, whilst also making five appearances in Copa del Rey.
Since making the switch from lower-league outfit AD Ceuta just 12 months ago, Uche has impressed massively in the top flight.
Leeds, Crystal Palace to fight for Uche?
According to reports in Spain via The Leeds Press, a newly-promoted side and the FA Cup champions are interested in signing the La Liga star.
The report claims that Leeds and Crystal Palace are looking to secure the services of Uche before the end of the summer window.
It is understood that Wolverhampton Wanderers were in the race for the 22-year-old, although the Black Country is no longer a possible destination for the player.
As a result, it is believed that Leeds and Palace are left as the suitors for Uche, set to fight it out for the talents of the Nigerian.
Reluctant to lose one of their brightest attackers on the cheap this summer, Getafe are supposedly aiming to pocket £15.5m from the sale of the player.
Where can Uche play?
Despite his towering frame, Uche has not always played as a central target man since arriving at the base of Getafe last summer.
The 22-year-old is often deployed just behind the striker, possessing the ability to link the play and provide assists for teammates.
Currently lacking cutting edge in the Premier League, Leeds could benefit massively from the potential summer arrival of Uche in the coming days.
