Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd and his wife, Australian actress Bianca Wallace, have revealed the gender of their baby in a lovely video shared on social media.

The couple announced they were expecting their first child together back in June 2025. Ioan, 51, and Bianca, 33, have been together since 2021.

The gender reveal video, posted on both Ioan and Bianca’s Instagram accounts, features the back of a pram. As the camera pans around, a large bouquet of pink roses is revealed resting in the seat, confirming they are expecting a baby girl.

Alongside it the caption from Ioan reads “And we couldn’t be more thrilled.” The Aberdare-born actor was previously married to Alice Evans, and they share two daughters, Ella and Elsie.

On an earlier post Bianca, who has been open about her journey with MS on her social media, was asked if the baby would be born in Wales and gave a diplomatic response, saying: “No matter where bubba is born, the roots will always be 50% Welsh.”

The news follows a busy year for the couple, who tied the knot back in April. In a beautiful wedding video shared on social media, Bianca wore a silk white slip dress with a low v-neck and held bright pink roses, while Ioan looked sharp in a black suit.

Bianca captioned the post: “Mr & Mrs Gruffudd. Marriage now, wedding later.”

Best known for his roles in blockbuster films like Titanic and Fantastic Four, Ioan’s acting career began at just 13 years old when he starred in the Welsh television film Austin.

He then spent seven years playing a key role in the Welsh-language soap opera Pobol y Cwm before transitioning to major film projects.
