An Edinburgh mum is pleading for her son’s bike back after a young suspected thief was caught red handed.

Demi Mcconnell, from the Calders, has been annoyed by the sneaky youth who appeared to grab the red Carrera Blast from outside her front door.

The incident took place at around 10.30pm on Thursday August 28.

A video shared with Edinburgh Live shows the moment the bike was lifted from the communal stair well and Demi has asked for members of the public to come forward with any information on the item.

“I just feel annoyed,” she said. “My son only had the bike three months.

“I genuinely can’t leave my own things at my front door without other people stealing them, it’s disgusting.

“Hopefully someone or the person that’s took the bike will see the article and we could maybe get it back.”

It is understood the police were not contacted.
