Last week (August 18), travel expert Rob Crossan published a list of 50 places he thinks are the best to grab a breakfast on the Mail Online.
Only one Greater Manchester venue featured on the list, with Browns on York Street in the city centre praised for its fry-up.
However, no Oldham venues were included in the list, despite the borough being home to independent spots utilising fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
Below are three places we think should have featured on the list.
Albion Farm Shop & Cafe
A full English at Albion Farm Shop (Image: Newsquest) Set in a beautiful countryside location, while still being easy enough to access, Albion Farm deserves a place on this list due to its excellent quality food.
Homegrown vegetables and meat raised on site at the farm make breakfast here especially unique.
Even the vegetarian breakfast stands out, featuring no fake meat and instead promoting locally grown vegetables.
It’s not just the food that makes the venue special, though; it’s the experience of going, with the farm shop next door being open to browse before or after food, and the friendly staff topping it all off.
When The Oldham Times tried Albion Farm shop earlier this year, the trip was enjoyed due to the community feel, with brands from around Oldham and neighbouring boroughs promoted throughout the farm.
During the visit, £19 was spent on a full English and a hot chocolate, with a few customisations followed perfectly.
For the quality and enjoyment, Albion Farm is well worth a visit.
The Loading Bay

Despite only having opened this month, The Loading Bay has quickly soared to one of the top-rated cafes in the borough, with a Google rating of 4.8 stars.
Diggle’s newest culinary offering is owned by the Greenwood family, the former owners of the Greenwood Craftsman Bakers, which had several shops in Oldham.
Having been born and raised in Saddleworth, the director of the cafe and bistro, 75-year-old Marcus Greenwood, said opening the cafe was a homecoming after mainly working in other parts of Oldham and Greater Manchester.

A unique concept of the cafe is its specialised crumpet bar, which serves up inventive twists on the British favourite.
One dish, the crumpet goes to Greece, fuses Mediterranean dining with crumpets.
Billingtons

The historic town centre venue originated as a dance school and ballroom, but today also features a bar and cafe.
Billingtons was recognized by Small Business Saturday last year, a non-commercial campaign which highlights small businesses across the country in a bid to encourage customers to ‘shop local’ in their communities.
The venue featured in the campaign’s top 100 small businesses list.
Breakfast is served all day, with a regular full English alongside a large one as well as other options including eggs Benedict, breakfast sandwiches, and bagels.
The venue also makes its own hash browns.
There’s also a range of crepes available, which has both sweet and savoury options.
