AUGUST 15th and 26th, 2025, will be etched in the memories of Birmingham as the days Black Tech Day 2025 brought the city together for an unforgettable experience.

Led by founder Dexter Simms, the event delivered an all-inclusive, interactive, and engaging experience that showcased the latest in tech, finance, and gaming.

Immersive experiences and expert insights

The Legacy Centre was transformed into a hub of creativity and innovation, featuring:

– *State-of-the-art gaming stations*: With PS5, PC, and Xbox stations, attendees could indulge in their favorite games or discover new ones. VRX Stimulators brought the real gaming environment to life, with a chance to win a £4,000 PC for beating the fastest lap time. Capcom Europe didn’t just support the event; they also showed up with limited-edition Street Fighter gifts to watch the live Street Fighter tournament hosted by BTD Gamer Mr. Chinese Boy.

– Breakout rooms*: Leading Roblox developer Don Senti’s session ran overtime by 40 minutes, with parents and young developers eager to learn about game development and marketing. The session was interactive, and attendees were engaged, asking questions and seeking insights into the world of game development.

– Ai workshop : Ali Mohamoud’s practical session on Ai apps and tools was fully booked, with attendees learning how to download and trial Ai apps. The session was designed for the everyday person, and attendees appreciated the hands-on approach.

Inspiring speakers and panel discussions

The event featured inspiring speakers, including:

– Charmaine Hayden : Hosting the event and bringing her expertise as a culture commentator. Her presence added a touch of elegance and sophistication to the event.

– Founder Cap from Super Team UK Sharing insights on the adoption of Solana Crypto Currency and its power in building community. The session was informative, and attendees appreciated the expertise.

– Dr. Tru Powell : Delivering a keynote on personal branding, with the audience engaged and interactive. The session was designed to help attendees stand out from the crowd, both online and offline.

Parenting and technology

A highlight of the event was the parent panel, where Dexter Simms shared his backstory and the importance of bonding with family through technology, gaming, and finance.

The panel discussed the need for parents to be aware of their children’s technology use and to use it as a tool for bonding. The panel featured Dexter Simms, his mentee Danielle Blenman and senior trauma and informed specialist Andrew Fuller.

Investing and financial literacy

Stock Pickers Academy hosted a live in-person investing session, giving attendees the opportunity to register for an investing app and walk them through step-by-step. Coach Debs, who has worked at Goldman Sachs, was patient and attentive, helping everyone understand and be involved in the exercise.

Children’s Activity Zone

The under-8s activity zone was a huge hit, with UYC Academy providing a creative and engaging space for children to learn and have fun. Parents were involved, and the zone was designed to promote learning through art and games.

Exhibitors and more

The event featured a range of exhibitors, including food stands, Bitcoin stands, photo booths, and history books. Attendees could take photos, grab a bite to eat, and learn about Bitcoin and other topics. The exhibitors added to the overall atmosphere of the event, making it a fun and engaging experience for all.

A community-driven event

Black Tech Day’s mission is to support families in bonding together and teaching them financial literacy using technology and gaming as key tools. The event was a huge success, with attendees praising its affordability, informative sessions, and family-friendly atmosphere.
