There wasn’t much to shout about for either side at Ibrox as the first Glasgow derby of the season ended in a 0-0 draw.
Hardly anyone stood out for Celtic against Rangers as Brendan Rodgers’ side struggled to create chances from the first minute until the last.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha and Marcelo Saracchi made their debuts; however, neither had an impact on the game.
Celtic are still top of the Scottish Premiership table going into the international break, and have still managed to get the last laugh on their neighbours.
Celtic get the last laugh on Rangers with 42-year record
Although it was the first goalless Glasgow derby since 2017, Celtic can still walk away knowing they’ve made a strong start to the season.
The same can’t be said for Russell Martin and Rangers though, who have now made their worst start to a league campaign for 42 years.

Rangers have drawn all four of their games, while Martin has three wins from 11 games in all competitions.
It may be frustrating that Rodgers and the Hoops didn’t take full advantage of their woeful start, but it does still emphasise the gulf between the two right now.
Celtic won’t play like that against Rangers again
During his post-match interview, Rodgers said his side didn’t play the ‘Celtic way’ and he was right.
Instead of the free-flowing, attacking football we are used to, the Bhoys looked like they were on edge and almost scared to make a mistake.
We can’t imagine that will be happening again any time soon and if the Celtic manager and fans have their way, the players will put in a much-improved display.
