A “massive bang” was heard as a fire started in one part of Merseyside. Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to the ECHO, it attended an incident on Ganneys Meadow Road, Woodchurch, Wirral tonight, Sunday 31 August.
Crews were alerted at around 7.30pm that a fire involving a wheelie bin and main gas intake was happening outside of a two storey mid terrace property. MFRS got to the scene at 7.42pm with three fire engines.
Firefighters monitored the scene with a thermal imaging camera before liaising with a cadent engineer that attended shortly after. The gas supply to the premises was capped and made safe.
MFRS crews then handed the scene over to Cadent, before leaving. All persons were out of the property and the fire extinguished prior to Fire Service attendance.
