Nottingham Forest are going to be pretty quiet by their usual hectic standards on transfer deadline day.

John Victor signed for Forest last night shortly after the Reds had been thrashed 3-0 by West Ham at the City Ground.

Forest have been active during the transfer window and have now landed 10 players during the summer, despite a slow start.

Nuno Espirito Santo is going to have talks with Evangelos Marinakis during the international break after a reported breakdown in their relationship.

Today, there is work to do when it comes to outgoing deals, however, and now one player could be heading out of the exit door at the City Ground.

According to Record, Sporting CP are in London trying to finalise a deal for Jota Silva to join the club ahead of the deadline.

The Champions League outfit are looking to sign new players, with Sporting holding long-term interest in Silva since the start of the window.

Silva is wanted by Rui Borges who was his manager at Vitoria before his move to Forest and he is keen to get a deal done before tonight’s deadline.

The 25-year-old started just five games for Forest last season and wasn’t in the matchday squad for games against Crystal Palace and West Ham this season.

Forest need to get rid of Silva

The Reds have made 10 signings and naturally, the squad is now looking somewhat bloated following the new arrivals.

Forest must make sure they offload some players today and Silva is one who will be itching to leave.

Had Forest landed a player like Silva in their first season back in the Premier League, then perhaps things might have been different but right now, the team boasts better options.

Silva will go with Forest’s best wishes and if the deal can be struck with the Reds making a bit of profit that could be ideal from a PSR point of view.
