Bristol City prospects Adam Murphy and Jamie Knight-Lebel are both set to complete loan moves to Swindon Town, Bristol Live understands, as the Robins continue to make their final changes to their squad ahead of the transfer deadline.
Murphy joined the Reds’ ranks from Irish side St Patrick’s Athletic in January 2024 and linked up with City’s Under-21s side for the remainder of that season. Injuries limited his involvement, but he impressed in flashes for the Young Robins before spending parts of the following pre-season with the first team.
The Ireland youth international continued to struggle with fitness issues last term, but seemingly managed to shake those off in the second half of the campaign. Murphy was a regular starter for the Reds’ Under-21s following the turn of the year and impressed with several combative midfield showings.

The good form he demonstrated ensured that he joined the rest of Gerhard Struber’s first-team squad in Portugal for their pre-season training camp this summer. Although he is yet to make a competitive senior appearance for the Robins, he started their pre-season draw with Cheltenham Town and was named on the bench for the season-opener at Bramall Lane.
At Swindon, Murphy will get his first chance to play senior football in England, under the management of Bristol Rovers icon and former QPR and Blackpool boss Ian Holloway at the County Ground.
The 20-year-old won’t be the only Reds prospect heading across the M4 either, with Knight-Lebel also set to spend the campaign in League Two with the Robins.
A product of City’s academy, the Canadian international spent last season on loan in the fourth tier with Crewe Alexandra, where he made 38 appearances in all competitions, scoring three times, as the Railwaymen finished 13th under the management of Lee Bell.

Like Murphy, Knight-Lebel has been in and around the first team over the course of the summer. The centre-back travelled to the Algarve, featured in friendlies against Cheltenham and Newport County, but has not been included in a single competitive matchday squad so far this term.
With the Robins’ backline boosted by the addition of Neto Borges and the club’s desire to keep Zak Vyner at Ashton Gate beyond the transfer deadline well documented, a spell at the County Ground should provide Knight-Lebel with the opportunity to continue his development.
