Inter Milan, Marseille, and Man City are reportedly working on a double deal involving defenders Benjamin Pavard and Manuel Akanji.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it. They report that the clubs are trying to see if a move for Pavard to Marseille, and Akanji to Inter, would be possible before the transfer window closes.
With just a few hours left before the transfer window closes, Marseille are still targeting Inter defender Benjamin Pavard.
Pavard has been linked with a few clubs this summer, with Inter reportedly willing to sell the Frenchman.
Turkish champions Galatasaray reportedly are keen on Pavard. Then, Neom have not hid their interest in bringing the 29-year-old to the Saudi Pro League.
Furthermore, the possibility of a move back to Ligue 1 has also emerged.
Lille have withdrawn their interest, as they consider a move for Pavard to be too expensive.
However, another French team could bring Pavard back to his homeland. Marseille are keen to make one more big defensive reinforcement before the transfer window closes.

Naturally, Inter have hardly been planning to sell Pavard on deadline day.
Whilst the Nerazzurri have been willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old former Bayern Munich defender, they would also want an adequate replacement.
That would seemingly block the possibility of Pavard leaving for Marseille.
According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, though, an opportunity for a replacement has emerged.
Manchester City have been looking to offload defender Manuel Akanji for several weeks. The Cityzens are aiming to trim their squad, particularly in defense.
AC Milan had been trying to get a deal done for the Swiss international in recent days. However, Akanji turned down the offer, as he prefers to move to a team playing in the Champions League.
The Rossoneri’s city rivals Inter are one such team, however.
Therefore, the Gazzetta reports, the Nerazzurri are working on potentially bringing in Akanji if Pavard is to go to Marseille.
There isn’t much time in the transfer window. However, the clubs are in talks to see if they can squeeze the two transfers in.
