Activities at the Battle of Britain Bunker Exhibition and Visitor Centre will range from a dedicated Speaker Series of historical talks and themed tours to a performance by the RAF Northolt Central Band, a wreath-laying ceremony and a new pop-up exhibition.
On Friday, September 12, the exhibition will launch at a special Museum Late event – a rare opportunity to visit the centre ‘after hours’ and see the collection, which includes objects on public display for the first time.
Across that weekend, there is a packed programme for families and history-lovers.
There are Pipsqueaks story sessions for young children, a Battle of Britain Experience tour with actors helping to tell the story, an inter-active performance from Freshwater Theatre, while the bunker’s Generator House will open to the public for the second time.
On Monday, September 15, visitors are invited to pay their respects during a wreath-laying ceremony at the bunker’s memorial from 11am.
On Thursday, September 25, the Ensemble of the Central Band will perform a free concert, but booking is essential.
Entry to most events and activities is included in the price of a bunker tour or visitor centre ticket.
