Concerns grow for welfare of missing 41-year-old man

  • 3 September 2025

Police are asking for the help of the public to trace a 41-year-old man reported missing in Edinburgh.

Christopher Agnew was last in touch with his family around 1am on Tuesday, 2 September, and concerns are growing for his welfare.

He has connections in the Ferry Road area of the city and in Musselburgh.

He is described as white, around 6ft, of medium build and with brown, thinning hair.

Sergeant James Muir said: “We need to make sure Christopher is safe and well and we are asking anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to get in touch.

“Please keep a look out and if you see anyone matching his description call us on 101, quoting reference number 0543 of Tuesday, 2 September, 2025.”

John graduated from Telford College in 2010 with an HNC in Practical Journalism and since then he worked for the North Edinburgh News, The Southern Reporter, the Irish News Review and The Edinburgh Reporter. In addition he has been published in the Edinburgh Evening News and the Hibernian FC Programme.
