Tuesday’s episode of EastEnders had everyone talking with the reunion of Zoe Slater and Kat Moon, as well as a shocking shooting.

Patrick Trueman and wife Yolande Trueman were celebrating with loved ones in The Queen Vic as they tied the knot in sweet scenes. But celebrations turned sour, when the episode ended with a brutal cliffhanger.

With nods to the past and plenty of nostalgia, we saw Zoe return to Walford for the first time in two decades – leading to an almighty showdown with her estranged mum Kat. With references to the past and hints to what has been going on in Zoe’s life for the last 20 years, it was clear to a worried Kat that her daughter was in trouble.

With Zoe eager to run away and hinting that she had a big secret, the pair featured in some epic but dramatic scenes. Meanwhile, events with Oscar Branning, Jack Branning and Ravi Gulati led to a shocking shooting.

As Jack and Ravi tussled over a gun, it fired and someone was shot – but who? We didn’t see who it was, but the gun appeared to fire towards the pub.

Spoilers showed people inside cowering in fear, but has someone in the pub been hit? Fans fear it could be Oscar, or someone inside the pub. Then there’s the theory Kat or Zoe could have been hit, as they were rowing out on the Square just as the gun fired.

Either way there are two huge mysteries to solve and a long time to wait, as the next episode will not drop on iPlayer on Wednesday morning. Fans will have to wait until 7:30pm Wednesday evening when it airs on TV and iPlayer at the same time.

Bosses made the move to drop the early release to preserve the big twists as Zoe’s big secrets finally come to light, and we learn what exactly has been going on and what she’s been hiding. Not only that, but the episode sees the fallout of the shooting and we find out who has been injured.

Fans are convinced they have worked it all out though. In terms of Zoe’s secret, fans are convinced she is the mother of troubled teen Joel Marshall after some apparent hints in recent months.

Other fans think it will be revealed that she is married to Max Branning who is returning to the BBC soap. As for the shooting victim, fans have named Sharon Watts, Kat, Zoe, Howie Danes and Oscar as potential victims.

In a sad twist fans are also guessing Kat’s nan Mo Harris is the one who gets shot, and that she might be killed off in a tragedy. Fans will just have to tune in on Wednesday evening to find out.
