A woman who climbed Yr Wyddfa (Mount Snowdon) for the first time was left shocked by the experience, and it’s not the first time the mountain has left people a little stunned. Aisha, from Manchester, recently travelled to Wales to take on the hike, but it’s fair to say she was left underwhelmed by the experience.
The vlogger, who has over 60,000 followers on TikTok, said her video is a sign “not to go hiking”, as she claimed she wouldn’t do it again following her Welsh adventure. She decided to take on Yr Wyddfa for fun, but her journey seemed to be anything but that.
Over the video, she wrote: “‘Let’s go to Snowdon for a hike’, he said. ‘It’ll be fun’, he said.” The clip then shows Aisha climbing the mountain in shorts, struggling in the wind and the rain – and many other people have opened up about how the climb has left them a little frazzled in the past too.
What may surprise people is Aisha said the view from the top is “definitely not worth it”. Despite the beauty our country has to offer, it seems some people think the walks to appreciate our scenic views can simply be too much effort.

The video has been viewed hundreds of times since it was shared, and dozens of people commented too. People were quick to praise Aisha for completing the hike.
One person said: “I saw you yesterday coming down the Llanberis path. You smashed it down there. Well done!”
Another added: “I did it yesterday – my legs are destroyed.” To this, Aisha replied: “Same, even standing is painful.”
A third wrote: “Haha, I was literally crying, having a panic attack to turn back when I hiked with my boyfriend. He hated me.”
Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: “How long did it take you to complete? My husband and I are doing it on Saturday.”
In the comments, Aisha confirmed it took them five hours in total, and she confessed they wanted to be quick to “get out of there ASAP”. She noted it can take some people up to eight hours to complete, depending on how much time they spend at the top and rest.
Aisha added: “You should definitely go. Just mentally prepare – it’s painful.” Others also admitted taking on the hike can be tough, but many seem to love the views.
Yr Wyddfa is a mountain in Snowdonia in North Wales. It is the highest mountain in Wales, with an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level. It’s also the highest in the British Isles, south of the Scottish Highlands.
It’s a designated national nature reserve for its rare flora and fauna. If you want to visit, you’ll find it situated in Snowdonia National Park.
There are various lakes on the mountain, with the largest being Llyn Lydaw, which is situated on the eastern flank. In the past, the mountain has been dubbed the “busiest in the United Kingdom.”
Back in 2022 it was recorded to have been climbed by 543,541 walkers. There are six main paths to the summit, and the most popular starts in the town of Llanberis to the north.
You can also reach the summit via the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which managed to carry 98,567 passengers in 2021. It’s a super popular mountain that’s visited by thousands of people every year.
During super busy periods, such as summer weekends, people have been known to queue at the summit of Yr Wyddfa in order to gain access to the summit pillar. This usually takes place at the steps leading to the trig point; however, it’s still possible to enjoy the summit area without joining the queue.
