Garcia, 37-4 (21 KOs), of Philadelphia will be fighting for the first time since last September, when he was stopped in nine rounds. The 37-year-old Garcia last fought at Barclays in 2022, the fight previous to the Lara bout, when he won a majority decision over Jose Benavidez Jnr. Garcia figured in some of the biggest events at Barclays Center, which had once been the spiritual home base for Premier Boxing Champions, including back-to-back headlining fights at the venue against Erik Morales and Zab Judah, in 2012 and 2013, plus his 2017 welterweight unification fight against Keith Thurman.
