Sam Erith, who arrived at the club in September 2024 as Interim Performance Director and was appointed permanently to the role this summer, has led the revamp.
Ahmad is a hugely experienced and respected practitioner. He has been Head of Medicine at QPR and Crystal Palace and Doctor at Millwall and Tottenham and was also on the Medical Panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board on a part-time basis for five years, as well as being the current chairman of the FA’s Medical Society, a role he has held for nearly 15 years.
Fotherby joined Everton in the summer of 2022 after seven years working as a Doctor and General Practitioner in the NHS. He was the Toffees’ Club Doctor for two years, before becoming Lead Men’s First Team Doctor at the start of last season.
He has worked in sport before, having been Team Doctor for both British Gymnastics for almost two years and for Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club for almost three-and-a-half years.
