A man accused of murdering another man who was fatally stabbed in Leeds has appeared before the city’s crown court for the first time.
Police were called to Cardigan Road in Headingley shortly before 16:30 BST on Friday, and Elsiado Marku, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, West Yorkshire Police said.
Eljon Markaj, 31, of no fixed address, is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was remanded in custody to appear again at Leeds Crown Court on 1 October for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
