With 27 themed rooms delving into magic, occultism, folklore and the supernatural, this exhibition shines a flickering torchlight on ‘forbidden knowledge’. It’s a gateway to explore the unknown.
What can you expect to find inside Dark Secrets: The Esoteric Exhibition?
There is much to discover in the sprawling Dark Secrets exhibition. Your twisting route will take you through over 1,200 meters of immersive installations, original artefacts, scene reconstructions, informative panels and more. Each one unravels a different thread of these mysterious cultures. One moment you could find yourself learning about ancient rituals and the mythical creatures of folklore, the next you are unravelling lost meanings and debunking frauds.
The exhibition claims to steer clear of sensationalism. Instead, they aim to use a combination of history, science and academic research to explore the many facets of esotericism and distinguish truth from fiction.
Those after a tangible representation of these many mysterious cultures will not be disappointed. Dark Secrets features an extensive collection of never-before-seen artefacts, including a ceremonial staff belonging to English occultist Aleister Crowley, a 17th-century witch-hunting manual, authentic African voodoo objects, magic ritual tools and much more.
Dark Secrets: The Esoteric Exhibition is curated and organised by Italmostre, an Italian company behind Serial Killer: The Exhibition which had a successful stint during its time in The Vaults last year. Now, they are inviting visitors to deep dive into another complex topic, with a comprehensive exploration of all things magical, mystical and, in some cases, malevolent.
