The ongoing tension between Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and Netflix recently intensified, with the streaming giant reportedly demanding big changes to the couple’s projects. Could a Christmas special be their last swansong? Read on for more about the partnership issues.

The Basics Of Failure

According to royal commentator Neil Sean, the main problem seems related to Meghan’s failure to understand the business side of content creation. He believes that the issue led to a series of strategic missteps and a “disaster” for her partnership with the streaming platform.

Speaking on his vlog Daily News Headlines on Wednesday, Neil Sean explained that he believes Meghan’s drive for fame stems from her acting career, where she “never really achieved the big goal in Hollywood.” He opined that she “had to find a new way” and found it in Harry, whom she could “mold into what she wanted.”

The Grand Plan That Failed

Sean claimed that Meghan “studied [Princess Diana] like a school math book,” copying her looks and stances. However, Meghan Markle’s grand plan to marry into the royal family hit a snag when she discovered the money and power weren’t what she expected. So,  she decided she could make them more powerful herself.

However, Sean said that the launch of Meghan’s show was a “complete shambles” and a “disaster.” He described the launch as the “worst launch ever,” criticizing the lack of professional marketing. Additionally, he noted that Meghan refused engagement with critics. According to Sean, Netflix executives felt disappointed with the lack of a return on their investment and now force a change in direction.

Viewers Don’t Want Meghan?

One issue, Sean explained, is that the Netflix audience is only interested in Harry. While Meghan wants to be seen as the star, Netflix knows that the only thing that gives them an edge “are ratings.” Unfortunately for Meghan, Harry is allegedly the one who brings them in.

The streaming service allegedly called a meeting with Meghan next week to demand that she “shoehorn the husband in” for a Christmas special. Sean explained that Netflix wants to see the couple’s home dynamic, possibly with Harry taking on a “Laurel and Hardy character” who makes light of his kitchen skills.

Alleged Christmas Special Tantrum BTS

Allegedly, the ultimatum created immense tension. Sean claimed that behind the scenes, there are “tears, tantrums, and temper” from Meghan. The claims suggest that she blames Harry for tarnishing her image. She believes that if she had been on her own, she would have been successful. However, as Sean pointed out, she would not have had the show or the platform without Harry.

The decision of whether to include Harry in the Christmas special could end up as the “last roll of the dice” for their Netflix partnership.

Discussion & Opinions

In the discussion area, many royal family fans had their say about the Netflix shows and failures. One critic opined, “Meghan was always the ‘bit player’ in any series she was in, if you blinked you would miss her.”

Here are a few more reactions:

  • The ONLY person who has tarnished Megan is MEGAN HERSELF. No-one else. ALL Megan. Completely Megan.
  • Virtually no one is interested in Meghan’s Christmas Special. If Netflix is smart, they’ll cut ties and move on. Best of luck to Princess Catherine’s Christmas Special! Everyone can’t wait to watch it.
  • I don’t care if he comes on and tap dances in a sparkling outfit, I still won’t watch. He’s just as bad if not worse than her!

What are your thoughts? Do you believe that the Christmas special is likely to be the swansong of the couple on TV?
