A 50-YEAR-OLD man has been killed in a horrifying car crash on Cramond Road South, in the Silverknowes area of Edinburgh. 

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at 10:05pm last night after receiving a report that a Vauxhall Corsa hatchback had crashed on Cramond Road South. 

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the 50-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Only one car was involved in the incident, and it appears that no one else was injured.

Police say that enquiries into the crash are ongoing and have urged eyewitnesses and anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 

Police are also specifically appealing for anyone with dashcam or personal footage to contact them. 

Sergeant Paul Ewing said: 

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died. 

“As our enquiries continue, I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this crash to contact us. 

I would also urge anyone who was in the area who has dash-cam or personal footage to please review it and get touch if it holds anything which may be relevant.” 

It is unclear as of yet what the specific circumstances of the crash were. 

The crash took place on the quiet, leafy lane of Cramond Road South, sandwiched in between Silverknowes and Cramond. 

A Police Scotland Statement said: 

“Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Edinburgh on Wednesday, 3 September, 2025. 

“Around 10.05pm, officers received a report that a Vauxhall Corsa had crashed on Crammond Road South. 

“Emergency services attended, however, the 50-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. 

“Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 3584 of Wednesday, 3 September, 2025.”
