A popular cake shop will be opening a new location in Manchester this weekend with 100 free slices to be handed out to mark the big occasion.

Cake Box first opened in East London in 2008 with a focus on baking 100% egg-free cakes. The brand now has around 250 stores across the country, including shops in Cheetham Hill, in the Arndale, Harpurhey and Didsbury.

On Saturday (September 6), Cake Box will officially open its new location in Wythenshawe. Located on Hollyhedge Road, the bakery will feature a range of celebration cakes, cupcakes, brownies and cheesecakes.

It will also offer a one-hour click and collect service on select celebration cakes and treats for any last-minute orders. Creating new jobs in the local area, the new store will open its doors from 11am.

To mark the opening, the first 100 guests through the doors will be treated to a free slice of celebration cake. Not only that, but there will also be family-friendly activities with face painting and balloons on the day.

Speaking about the new opening, Cake Box founder and CEO Sukh Chamdal said: “We’re really excited to be bringing our delicious celebration cakes and sweet treats to Manchester, and we’re encouraging locals to stop by to try them on us, to mark the occasion!

“The timing couldn’t be better – families who are running out of ideas for entertaining their kids at the end of the school holidays will love being able to pick up a free slice of cake and have their faces painted on the launch day.”

Since launching 17 years ago, Cake Box has become popular with those with specific dietary requirements who can’t have egg-based products and those who follow lacto-vegetarian diets.

Amongst its customer favourites are the likes of the Dubai-style chocolate cheesecake sundaes, its Lotus Biscoff cupcakes, and its chocolate orange brownie, which will all be available to order at the new Wythenshawe shop.

Cake Box will open on Hollyhedge Road, Wythenshawe (M22 8UE) on Saturday at 11am.
