Throughout the fresh instalment, the personalities offered their opinions on television’s biggest and finest programmes, including: The Great British Bake Off, Coronation Street, Educating Yorkshire, The Inheritance, Stranded on Honeymoon Island, The Guest and The Dog House, reports the Mirror.
Nevertheless, audiences found themselves preoccupied by the recent arrivals, with numerous programme enthusiasts declaring their hesitation to welcome the unfamiliar faces.
“I haven’t seen any of the new people yet, but they can all go away please,” remarked one viewer straight away. Another fan commented: “I already dislike the new people.”
A third person noted: “Oh, I can’t be doing with new people. They always ruin it.”

Anticipating the flood of critical responses, one viewer joked: “I’m sure everyone will be nice and polite about the new families….” whilst another remarked: “Some new people? Oh great, that always goes well!”
“Just remember everyone was a ‘new family’ once give them all time before judging the OG’s are the best but some of these may join them someday,” another viewer commented.
Missing from this series are Glasgow duo Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle. They revealed: “After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa Channel 4 have decided it’s time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26.
“Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. Time to watch TV in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn.”
Gogglebox has secured a nomination at the National Television Awards 2025, taking place next week. The programme will compete against Clarkson’s Farm, Stacey and Joe, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live and Stacey Solomon’s Sort Your Life Out for the Factual Entertainment prize on Wednesday, September 10.
