The teenager from Tipton, who cannot be named because of his age, is facing one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a bladed article in a public place after the incident, which occurred in Brunel Road, Oldbury, earlier this year.

West Midlands Police officers were called to Brunel Road in the early hours of January 4 after a 14-year-old boy was found with a “serious” knife wound.

That same morning, the 15-year-old was arrested in connection with the incident and was charged the following day, on January 5.

The trial of the teen began earlier this week (September 1) at Wolverhampton Crown Court after he pleaded not guilty to both offences.

The 15-year-old boy has been accused of being in Brunel Road armed with a knife, where he then attempted to murder the 14-year-old.

The trial continues.
