Police believe the prime suspect in a Birmingham murder case might have fled to central London.

Images of Asad Khan were issued after the body of a man, in his 40s, was found on Alum Rock Road around 7am on Friday.

A huge hunt has unfolded and detectives now believe the 24-year-old may be around the Covent Garden area of London.

West Midlands Police are also keen to stress that the murder investigation was not connected to a major incident which unfolded in Erdington where a man was detained after he was seen ‘behaving suspiciously’.

Police later released the man and said the call was “genuine” and with “good intent but turned out to be inaccurate.”
