JPL Flavours has this week opened its new premises in Bromborough. The move to the new premises is part of the business’s expansion this year, with a new 75,000 square foot factory.

The new site features a range of new advanced facilities, made possible through the £11,0000,000 investment into the space.

Jake Lavelle, Managing Director and Founder, said: “We are on a mission to raise the bar for innovation in the industry, and we are so proud to do this from our new home in Bromborough.

“When choosing how we scaled the business, it was always important to me that this space was in the area I had grown up and it could be somewhere we could really nurture local talent and create amazing flavours from.”

The space also features a selection of AI support throughout. In addition, the headquarters features 16 team labs where customers can work alongside JPL staff to create sweet, savoury, and beverage flavours, utilising state-of-the-art technology.

As a teenage, Mr Lavelle, from Bebington, became a junior flavourist at Wirral-based Hagelin, a firm that was eventually bought out by a rival.

When the former Hagelin site went up for rent, Mr Lavelle took it as “an omen” to start his own flavourings company there in 2014.

JPL Flavours has formulated 19,000 different flavours for clients including Krispy Kreme and Applied Nutrition.
