An ‘ incident ‘ on the Edinburgh city bypass brought commuters to a standstill during rush hour on Tuesday morning (April 22).

A broken down HGV on the A720 at Baberton triggered massive queues at 7:10am after the eastbound carriageway was left partially blocked by the vehicle.

Commuters have been brought to a halt with delays of 54 minutes expected.

Motorists are encouraged to approach with caution.

Updating road users on their website, Traffic Scotland said: “The A720 eastbound between Calder junction and Baberton junction is currently restricted, due to a broken down vehicle.

“There is currently a 54 minute delay. Road users are advised to use caution on approach.”
