Purple-lidded bins are being delivered to residents across south Nottinghamshire to help improve glass recycling rates.
Rushcliffe Borough Council is aiming to distribute more than 55,000 bins to be used for kerbside glass collections. Glass of all colours can be placed in the new bins which will be collected every six weeks, said the council.
Bins will be delivered between September and November with the new collections set to begin in December.
The council has said it will review and scale back its existing glass banks but currently plans to keep those in Bingham, Cotgrave, East Leake, Gamston, Keyworth, Lady Bay, Radcliffe on Trent, Ruddington and West Bridgford.
