Fire crews responded to a blaze in a flat in Bristol last night.

At 10pm, Avon Fire and Rescue were called to Bishopston following reports of smoke.

When fire crews arrived at the property on Ashley Down Road, it was discovered that a fire had broken out in a ground floor flat.

Crews were sent from Temple, Patchway and Southmead.

The fire involved electrical equipment and the cause is thought to be accidental.

Avon Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 10pm on Monday, April 21, to reports of smoke issuing in a residential property on Ashley Down Road, Bishopston.

“Crews from Temple, Patchway and Southmead responded and extinguished a fire involving electrical equipment in a ground floor flat.

“The cause of the fire is thought to be accidental.”
