The Duchess of Wales is back to being a brunette while making a surprise appearance Monday at The National Federation of Women’s Institute in Sunningdale, west of London, with her husband Prince William.

Princess Catherine’s hair was a darker shade with highlights as the Royal couple dropped by the organization’s office to speak with members on the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death.

The National Federation of Women’s Institute is a community-based organization for women founded in Stoney Creek, Ont., in 1897. The charity campaigns on a wide range of issues affecting women in Canada, the U.K., South Africa and New Zealand.

There were hints that the princess changed her hair colour back to a darker shade after she attended a Women’s Rugby World Cup match on Saturday between England and Australia.

The duchess sported a honey blond look from late August to the first days of September, a big departure from her usual chestnut brown locks.

Last Thursday, the princess was all smiles as she showed off her lighter shades while visiting Britain’s Natural History Museum’s newly transformed gardens with Prince William.

“Sorry it’s been such a long time for me to come back,” the 43-year-old Catherine told museum researcher Sandra Knapp on Sept. 4 after arriving to the event, according to Britain’s Daily Mail.

The duchess returned to royal duties this year after she revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024.

Reports in British media suggest the mother of three had dyed her hair a new colour after photographers snapped pictures of her inside a vehicle as she attended church with her family near Balmoral Castle in Scotland on Aug. 24.

The new look came after the family took a summer break from public events and engagements.
