Prince Harry’s recent UK visit may be an attempt to repair the rift with the British royals – but one commentator has suggested a reconciliation is a long shot for one simple reason.
The Duke of Sussex was back in the UK on Monday to pay his respects to grandmother Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death.
However, Grant Harrold, King Charles’ former butler, told the New York Post: “There are trust issues there, but the king misses his son [Harry].”
Mr Harrold suggested Prince William was wary, explaining: “William is worried that with the stuff Harry has said, he could use it to his advantage again … like he’s already done.
“I think, sadly, they don’t trust him. It’s a shame, because Harry wants them to.”
Harry’s wife Meghan Markle did not accompany him on his trip, remaining in California with their two children.
