A man has been charged with murder after a man was found fatally stabbed.

Hazratgul Ahmadzai was discovered at an address in Alum Rock Road on Friday morning, September 5.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the property shortly after 7am but nothing could be done to save him.

Khan, aged 24, of no fixed address, was arrested in Dorset on Sunday morning and was charged last night, Monday, September 8.

He was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today, Tuesday, September 9.

The family of Mr Ahmadzai paid tribute to him and said: “He was a very kind man, everyone loved him and will miss him.

“He was well respected and well thought of.

“He did not deserve this terrible thing to happen to him. We will miss him every day.”

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: “We’ve charged a man with the murder of Hazratgul Ahmadzai, who died after being seriously injured in Birmingham.

“Mr Ahmadzai was found with serious injuries at an address in Alum Rock Road, on Friday. Asad Khan, aged 24, of no fixed address, was arrested in Dorset on Sunday morning and was charged last night.

“He will appear before city magistrates today.”
