The major motorway was shut in both directions at Junction 3 (Hornshill Interchange) at around 9.46am on Tuesday, September 9.

Traffic Scotland said the road had been closed due to ‘separate road traffic incidents’ on both the northbound and southbound carriageways.

During the incident, police were urging drivers to ‘avoid the area’, while Traffic Scotland was warning motorists to expect ‘delays’.

Following the collisions, the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said they were alerted to the incidents at 9.29am on Tuesday.

Two ambulances, a special operations response team, a paramedic response unit, a critical care paramedic, and a trauma team were sent to the scene.

After that, one person was taken to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, while another person was taken to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary.
