Four Square is an Edinburgh charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. They employ over 80 staff at seven locations across the city.

A spokesperson from Four Square said: “We’re devastated with this break in – the second in the last two years. Although the thief did not get anything – we don’t keep cash on the premises – they did cause a lot of damage. Our door and our tills have been smashed and we have lost a days trading.

“Edinburgh Furniture Initiative exists to raise money for Four Square’s homeless services. So that’s less money for families facing homeless, less money for our women’s refuge and less money for the young people we provide housing for.

“It’s pretty senseless, but it won’t hold us back. We’ll be open tomorrow. Please come and shop and donate and get us back on track.”
