A popular Caribbean restaurant loved by celebrities is preparing to open in Liverpool city centre. Jerk Junction, which was founded by Jake Shaffi in Manchester, has secured the former Gourmet Burger Kitchen site near Chavasse Park.
Jerk Junction will be the latest company to land in Liverpool ONE in what has been a massive year for high name brands entering the complex. Bright green and yellow boarding in the company’s signature style has appeared in the windows as renovations take place inside.
This will be the company’s fourth site as part of “a mission to make authentic Jamaican food more accessible in the UK”. Jerk Junction previously won The Manc Eats Takeaway Champion award, receiving thousands of votes from all over the region.
The menu features jerk chicken, curried goat and lentil stew – all served with rice and peas and prepared with traditional spices – and claims to offer “the best Caribbean food outside of the island”.
The Caribbean restaurant has racked up a celebrity following including sports pundit Ian Wright, television star Kai Fegan and musician Loyle Carner.

The company’s ethos statement reads: “At Jerk Junction, everyone is family. That starts with the people in our kitchen, the team who makes the magic happen.
“But it includes every customer who walks through our door, and the community we live in. We’re proud to be Jamaican and proud to support our local people.” An opening date is yet to be confirmed.

Rob Deacon, Landsec’s asset management director at Liverpool ONE, previously said: “You’ll be seeing a lot more vinyl going up over the next few months as the scheme’s tenant mix continues to evolve and elevate.
“2025 will be the biggest year for openings since the scheme opened in 2008, with the strongest line up of new brands anywhere in the UK. Watch this space.”

The Liverpool shop will offer POP MART’s complete collection of collectible blind boxes, with ranges including exclusive characters such as Hirono, Crybaby, Peach Riot, Kubo, Skullpanda, and The Monsters, most commonly known as Labubus.
