Uplift will return to the Phoenix Arts Club this autumn.

First created during the pandemic, the show, created by Kristie Winsen, aims to make musical theatre accessible to all by offering in-person tickets for London audiences and online streaming access by donation, including free tickets.

Featuring feel-good musical theatre numbers from musicals like Frozen, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, Waitress, The Sound of Music and more, the WhatsOnStage Award-winning piece is hosted by Winsen.

It’ll play three shows from 5 November, and will star performers Irene Alano-Rhodes, Zachary Willis, Natasha Hoeberigs, Anna Unwin, Dean Makowski-Clayton, Tomo Watanabe, and Constantine Andronikou, alongside a host of other guest performers.

Celebrating its fifth anniversary, Uplift will be directed by Fiona Winning, with music direction by Livs Needham, associate production by Lola Hibberd and technical direction by Jamie Rowsell. It is produced by Kristie Winsen for The Good Room Production Company.

Winsen commented: “Uplift was born from my love of musical theatre and a desire to lift spirits. Over the past five years, it’s brought joy to so many, and today that joy feels more vital than ever.

“It’s for performers too: giving new graduates a stage and helping seasoned artists reconnect with the joy of the art form. London audiences can expect a musical theatre celebration, and my favourite part, the intermission dance break: a theatre-wide dance party that leaps straight through the screen into homes around the world. It’s guaranteed to lift your spirits!”
