Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna insists tomorrow night’s visitors to Portman Road, Sheffield United, have been better than their pointless start to the season suggests.
The Blades registered 28 victories on their way to a third-place Championship finish last season, going on to lose the Play-Off Final to Sunderland in agonising fashion.

Chris Wilder was subsequently sacked as manager, with his replacement, Ruben Selles, having overseen five straight defeats in all competition at the start of this campaign.
“Of course, you would have expected them to have had a few more points on the board, but it’s a really small sample of games,” said McKenna, whose own team are still to register their first victory of 2025/26.
“Their first game (a 4-1 home loss to Bristol City), truthfully, was a freak result. If you look at the data beneath it, it was a scoreline that was completely out of touch with the chances in the game.

“The next three games have been tight and decided by one goal (1-0 defeats to Swansea, Millwall and Middlesbrough). They’ve had chances in each of the games.
“I think if you played those four games over 100 times, they’d have points on the board. I’m absolutely certain of that.
“They’ve had a big turnover like us and I fully expect that they will climb the table, just hopefully not this weekend.”
