Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair had everyone talking following their back-and-forth promo Friday night on WWE SmackDown.
In front of a lively crowd in Chicago, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair went toe to toe on the microphone. Unlike their split-screen encounter weeks ago, Flair was the one who was thrown off by the live audience and Stratton’s responses, leaving the champion to clear victor in this week’s war of words.
While many believe Flair went off script in their split-screen promo last month, we know for certain that both women veered off script Friday night on SmackDown. The promo ended with Stratton telling Flair she was 0-3 in marriage as Flair shot back that Stratton’s boyfriend, RAW Superstar Ludvig Kaiser, was in her DMs.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), staff and talent alike believe things didn’t go according to script. While it appears there were no further altercations backstage, Flair reportedly didn’t look pleased following the ordeal.
Did Tiffany Stratton or Charlotte Flair go off script first?
Multiple talents reached out to Sapp to confirm that Flair is known to call audibles in the ring and with promos. Which led some to believe Stratton had no choice but to fight back. Many who reached out also believe they should lean into this in the weeks ahead. However, with these shots being edited out of WWE uploads, it’s unknown if they will.
One source close to Tiffany informed Sapp that Flair went off script first. This made Stratton feel she had no choice other than to fight back.
As far as how this could affect their upcoming match at WrestleMania 41, Sapp reports that management wasn’t happy with either Stratton or Flair following the exchange.
