Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is often a man in the spotlight, with speculation that he could be replace by Jose Mourinho.
Leeds United fans are often divided over Daniel Farke, and even now despite what’s been a relatively strong start to the new Premier League season.
After Leeds United drew 0-0 with Newcastle in their last outing, the Whites find themselves in 12th place of the Premier League table, though Leeds are yet to score from open play in the league.
At the end of last season, reports emerged claiming that Leeds United were thinking of sacking Farke and replacing him with a more tried and tested Premier League manager.
He remains in charge, but Jose Mourinho’s recent sacking at Fenerbahce has prompted speculation that the Portuguese could take charge at Elland Road, after reports earlier this summer even claimed that Leeds United offered Mourinho the job.

It would’ve been harsh to sack Farke straight after promotion to the Premier League. Though there is an unwavering group of Leeds supporters who have never been fully convinced by the German, and who remain unconvinced now.
But the 49ers and Paraag Marathe stuck to their guns Fand Farke remains in the job for the time being. Now, after Alex Crook suggested Leeds could appoint Mourinho should he return to the Premier League, TeamTalk have confirmed Leeds’ stance on Farke’s future at the club.
They write that ‘the conversation is a moot point given Farke is not currently in any danger of the sack’ and that the club’s owners have not ‘suggested at any point he is under any pressure’.

Why Jose Mourinho to Leeds United is unlikely to happen anyway
For a lot of Leeds fans, Mourinho might be the dream appointment. Indeed for many, anyone with more Premier League pedigree than Farke might be preferable, with Leeds United fans calling for Nuno Espirito Santo after his recent Nottingham Forest exit.
But Mourinho to Elland Road is unlikely because of comments made by Mourinho in October 2024 where he claimed he would never go to a team battling relegation in the Premier League, as it’s a task too difficult.
If Leeds sack Farke this season then it would no doubt be because they’re in a dog fight, so for that reason, Mourinho arriving in West Yorkshire still looks as unlikely as it has been all along.
Farke though certainly has a lot of doubters and if results turn sour, then the fans could quickly turn likewise.
