Kate Middleton has once again infused her wardrobe with hidden symbolism on her latest royal visit to textile mills in Sudbury and Cuxton. Following her solo appearance, eagle-eyed fans were quick to take note of her gold Danielle Draper necklace, which featured a letter charm for each of her three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Middleton’s outfit, meanwhile, also happened to pay homage to Prince William. The gray plaid suit was rendered in the historic “Prince of Wales” check, per Vogue, thereby serving as a clever nod to her husband’s title.

Thursday’s appearance was far from the first time that Middleton has worn her charm necklace, of course. Earlier this year, for example, the Princess donned the accessory during her first overnight trip with Prince William since announcing her cancer diagnosis. The couple visited Scotland to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary, which is where they originally met as students at the University of St. Andrews back in 2001.
More recently, Middleton also wore the necklace for an appearance alongside her husband this week at the Natural History Museum in London.

The most newsworthy detail of the couple’s museum visit was not her choice of jewelry, however. Instead, the future Queen’s new blonde locks made quite the splash. She returned to her brunette roots a few days later, then changed her hair again on Thursday, September 11. Suffice to say it’s been a busy week at the hair salon for the future monarch.
