It’s all part of an important fundraising drive taking place.

Swimmers Cerys McCrindle and Laura Logan, who are part of the Down Syndrome Swimming Great Britain Team, have been supported by local runner and Fit Ayrshire Masses hero Brian Sharkey.

Brian has recently run 100 miles in a week to support and raise awareness for DDS-GB.

Brian, along with partner Sarah, Cerys’ Mum Karen, Dad Ewan and Laura’s Dad, Ian, are also running the Manchester Marathon this Sunday in relay teams to help raise funds to support the teams swimmers attend their first International training camp in May followed by the opportunity to attend the 2025 European Championships in October.

Cerys and Laura will also be attending along with Laura’s mum Betty to support all the runners on the day.

Cerys, Laura and Ewan were delighted to be able to support Brian as he completed his final miles, along with member of FAMS. Refreshments and cakes, kindly donated by Del’s Rolls, were then served and funds were added to the team’s efforts.

The families cannot thank Brian, FAMS and all those who have donated so far to their cause and are very grateful to Brian for all he has done.
