Manchester United have submitted their Premier League squad for the first half of the 2025/26 season.

Premier League clubs submit up to 25 players to form their squads. The list can be tweaked in the January transfer window, but each side have now submitted their squad before this weekend’s round of fixtures.

United have just 21 players in their squad, but the number is bolstered by players named in the Under-21 section, which include Leny Yoro, Kobbie Mainoo, Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.

Premier League rules state U21 players do not need to be named in the main squad, which can include no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the homegrown player criteria.

A homegrown player is deemed somebody who, irrespective of nationality or age, has been registered with any club affiliated to the FA or the FAW for a period of three entire seasons, or 36 months, before his 21st birthday, or the end of the season during which he turns 21.

United’s homegrown players are Tom Heaton, Dermot Mee, Rhys Bennett, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount and Amad.

Tyrell Malacia was a notable inclusion in the squad submission. Malacia is the only remaining member of the ‘bomb squad’ and could stay in Manchester after failing to find a new club.

The Turkish transfer window closes on Friday night, but Saudi Arabia’s window remains open until September 23.

Goalkeepers: Bayindir, Heaton*, Lammens, Mee*.

Defenders: Bennett*, Dalot, De Ligt, Maguire*, Malacia, Martinez, Mazraoui, Shaw*.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Fernandes, Mount*, Ugarte.

Forwards: Amad*, Cunha, Mbeumo, Sesko, Zirkzee.

* = Classified as homegrown.
