Chelsea could sign a new goalkeeper to replace Robert Sanchez this summer.

Sanchez is currently Chelsea‘s first-choice keeper, but the 27-year-old has made several high-profile mistakes this season.

His deputy, Filip Jorgensen, has not convinced either. Chelsea fans fumed at Jorgensen in one recent game, unhappy with how long the former Villarreal man took to pass the ball during one phase of play.

The Blues could now bring in a new shot-stopper, with some big names currently being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

One goalkeeper Chelsea could make a move for is Porto’s Diogo Costa. Last October, it was claimed that Chelsea were interested in Costa, and it does not look like that interest has gone away.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea have joined Premier League rivals Manchester City and Manchester United in the race for the 25-year-old’s signature.

The outlet claims that Costa has a €75m (£64.3m) release clause in his contract, making him very much attainable for rich clubs like the English trio.

Like Sanchez, Andre Onana has not impressed at United this season either, while Ederson’s contract at City expires next year.

It means the Citizens could offload the Brazilian this summer to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing, with Costa evidently being viewed as his potential successor by Pep Guardiola.

After a hugely disappointing campaign, especially by their high standards, Guardiola could be a very busy man in the upcoming transfer window.

Costa is not the only shot-stopper on Chelsea’s radar. The Blues also have an interest in Borussia Dortmund’s Gregor Kobel.

In February, it was reported that Chelsea are prepared to pay big money for Kobel when the transfer window reopens.

Chelsea also have their eyes on Mike Maignan, so both Sanchez and Jorgensen should be feeling worried right now.

To land Costa, though, it looks like Chelsea will have to see off competition from City and United.
